I have dsx running fine, but want to upgrade with the latest version. How can I do this ?
Download the latest upgrade, it will have the form " dsx_update<date>.zip
copy the file to the computer you already have a full DSX installation on
right click on the file → extract all
click next
type in or browse to the directory that contains the current DSX version. (if you followed the recommendations, this will be C:\program files\dsx)
click next → finish
You should now see the contents of the <DSX install dir> directory. There you will find all versions of DSX you had ever installed. If you click directly on the version you want to use, exactly that version will start up. Usually, you will want to use the most recent version, so it is recommended to have links to the latest DSX version in convenient places (actually, if you have more than one link, you should have links to one link, that you will change to the preset version, but how to do this ? → here's how:)
As described in the primary installation FAQ, you can create a link on your desktop. In the majority of cases you will already have created this link during the primary installation, and it's name will be DSX.
You can set this link to whatever version you want to startup when clicking on it.
To change the link, right click on it → Properties
In the "target" text field you see something like:
C:\program files\dsx\dsx050104.exe
…
say, you downloaded a new version dsx050108.exe
…
Change the content in the "target" text field to:
C:\program files\dsx\dsx050108.exe
click OK.
…
the link has been changed. If you now click on it, the new version will be started up.
