File Format

Files you download are either tar archives compressed using the UNIX "compress" program named with a ".tar.Z" extension or zip files named with a ".zip" extension.

For the .tar.Z files you will need a decompression program that understands "compress" format (like compress, gzip or pkzip) and one that can extract from the UNIX tar archive format. To extract the program files use the commands:

~> uncompress csx2.tar.Z

~> tar xvf csx2.tar

~> zcat csx2.tar.Z | tar xvf -

For the .zip files use the unzip command.

Archive Contents, File Sizes and MD5 Checksums

The archive files for each platform contain somewhat different sets of program files. These listings show what files you should expect to receive. The sizes and MD5 checksums can be used to verify that you have downloaded uncorrupted copies of the files.
